Our Statement of Faith

We at Word for the Weary are committed to these biblical truths:

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant, infallible and eternal. As the complete written revelation of God, it is given for the salvation of mankind and is the sufficient and final authority regarding Christian life and faith.

There is one uncreated God, eternally existent in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is God the Son who became flesh and dwelt among us. He was born of a virgin, led a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. He is eternal; the first and the last. He alone is our High Priest and advocate.

All mankind is sinful by nature and in need of a Savior. This condition makes it impossible to gain favor with God through good works. While good works are not a means or pre-requisite to salvation, they are, however, evident as a result of a changed life through Christ Jesus.

Mankind is saved by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ; it is a gift of God.

Believers are justified by Christ's shed blood and shall be saved from wrath through Him. This is the only way, for Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." (John 14:6)

Christ's Church is made up of people who have understood and recognized their lost condition and have placed their trust in the redeeming work of Christ for their salvation irrespective of denominational affiliation.

There will be a bodily resurrection of all people; the just to everlasting life ("For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law." Romans 3:28), the unjust to everlasting damnation.

Our Statement of Purpose

Word for the Weary's mission is three-fold:

1. To challenge Latter-day Saints to investigate and examine their Church honestly in light of God's revealed Word, the Bible, and turn from the error of Mormonism to the true, biblical Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

2. To educate and equip the Christian body with the knowledge that Mormonism is a false religious system and hopefully, stir their hearts enough that they will desire to share the truth of Christ with these lost souls.

3. To inform the non-suspecting public of the differences between Mormonism and biblical Christianity.

Our Statement of Commitment

God has burdened our hearts for the Mormon people. We are concerned for their lost condition and grieve for each one who is trapped in this system which falsely professes to be the one true church.

We will answer the claims made by the LDS Church which are contrary to true Christianity, being under obligation from God through His Word to "…contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints." (Jude 3).

We will be actively involved in witnessing and evangelization, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…" (Romans 1:16).

We are committed to being an example of God's servants in this ministry as stated in 2 Timothy 2:24-26, which says: "And the Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will."

But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men but God, who examines our hearts.
