Question 29

Question

Is Mormonism Anti-Christian?

Answers

NO! Of course, you probably knew I would say that, but, as many of you will point out, our perception of Christ and the Godhead does differ from mainstream Christianity. But the similarities are far more prevalant than the differences. Jesus Christ is the great Jehova, the God of Abraham, Isac, and Jacob. The creator of this world. He was born of a virgin mother in the merridian of time, taking upon himself a tabernacle of clay as the only begotten son of the Father in the flesh. At the beginning of his ministry, he was baptized by John the Baptist and we are told that the Holy Ghost descended in the form of a dove. We know that he was the only perfect man to be born into this world. We are told that John baptized for the remission of sins...Jesus had none...He was baptized to "fulfill all richeousness". Or, in other words, to show us the way. During his ministry on earth, he performed many miracles. Probably only a few were actually recorded by the apostles. We know that he ordained apostles into his ministry by the laying on of hands. He blead great drops of blood from every pour in his body as he suffered the pain of the sins of all the world in Gethsemany. He is our mediator with the Father because he said "Here am I, send me, and the glory be unto thee...", and the Father accepted his valiant request. He was sacrificed on the cross at Calvary, thereby fulfilling the promise that god made to men.." that a Savior would be Provided to free them from their sins and to save their souls from damnation". He was resurrected three days hence. He will be the Judge when the final judgement time arrives. If denying Mormons their claim to Christianity is your decission, you should decide within yourself if that act in itself is a Christian act. "Judge not, lest ye be judged" My intention is not to offend, nor is it to belittle other faiths. I have as much right to the title of Christian as anyone else who strives to do his best to follow the teachings of the Beloved Savior.

I would welcome a chance to further explain my position to those who wish it. [email protected] -RDS (LDS)

yes i believe mormonism is anti-christian. webster's dictionary defines "ANTI" as one who opposes a group, policy, practice, or proposal. even the b.o.m is anti christian. read 1 nephi 14:10 "behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the lamb of god, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the lamb of god belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth." someone please tell me how that is not anti-christian. read on. i quote b young: "with a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called christian world" (journal of discourses 8:199). i quote 3rd president john taylor (brigham young quotes mr taylor) "brother taylor has just said that the religions of the day were hatched in hell, the eggs were laid in hell, hatched on its borders, and kicked onto the earth" (j.o.d 6:176). i quote heber c. kimball "christians-those poor, miserable priests brother brigham was speaking about-some of them are the biggest whoremasters there are on the earth" (j.o.d 5:89).i can go on. please contact me for further talks at [email protected] -RB (non-LDS)
